Hold Approved Labels
The Problem
A manufacturer needed to improve its quality control process. Products were advancing to the next production step without the proper approval, creating quality issues and potential rework costs.
The existing system relied on clipboards, paper checklists, and verbal confirmations between quality inspectors and production floor workers. Nothing provided reliable, at-a-glance visual confirmation of approval status.
Production workers couldn’t quickly determine which products had passed inspection and which were still on hold. The system created confusion, miscommunication, and workflow bottlenecks. Products occasionally advanced before receiving the proper quality approval.
The manufacturer needed a simple, visual solution that eliminated confusion and prevented unapproved products from advancing through production.
The Solution
Working with the manufacturer’s distributor partner, Wise engineered a two-layer industrial label that provides clear visual quality control status.
The label design incorporates two distinct layers with contrasting colors and messages:
Top layer: “HOLD” displayed on a red background
Bottom layer: “APPROVED” displayed on a green background
Quality inspectors now apply the label to products awaiting inspection. When a product passes inspection, the inspector peels away the red “HOLD” layer, revealing the green “APPROVED” layer underneath. Production workers can see approval status instantly.
The solution is customizable to end-user specifications, including different colors, text variations, sizes for different production environments, and custom messaging for specific workflow requirements.
