Healthcare Prescription Pads
The Challenge
A hospital group with 80+ hospitals under its management throughout the Southeast and Mid-South had made a number of acquisitions. As a result, the group had decentralized the purchasing of much of its print and print-related services, including its prescription pads.
The distributor saw an opportunity to create value for its client. It researched the hospital group’s prescription pads and identified several serious issues. First, there were as many different designs of prescription pads as there were hospitals. Second, and even more concerning, the prescription pads were in noncompliance with state regulations in terms of security features.
The Solution
The distributor came to Wise seeking a solution. Wise did extensive research on compliance of prescription pads by state and provided the distributor with the results. Working with Wise, the distributor put together a program that provided a consistent design and full compliance with each state’s minimum requirements. Additionally, the distributor put together an easy order form for each hospital. Eventually, an online ordering site will be developed.
The Result
The hospital group was thrilled with the consistency in design of its prescription pads and that the distributor had brought those pads into compliance. It placed an initial $10,000 order with the distributor, who is currently in the midst of signing a multi-year print management contract with the customer. The hospital remains on the acquisition trail, with expectations to have over 300 locations within the next two years.
