The state of Wyoming currently follows federal requirements for prescription pads as set forth by the CMS. In addition to federal requirements the state of Wyoming also requires the following:

  • Changes to the Wyoming Controlled Substances Act, took effect on July 6, 2011 that mandate that prescriptions for Schedule II – V controlled substances, except for those issued as a medication order for administration in a long-term care facility or institutional facility, are now required to include quantity check-off boxes and a refill indicator. Additionally, prescription forms are required to include a security-warning list on the front and the back of the blank.

State Requirements

All states are required to meet the baseline standards set forth by the CMS. Several states have Prescription Monitoring Programs that require prescription pads to have specific security features.
